Flyversjussen is one of the classic Danish drinks, which can at least be dated back to 1937 – and probably earlier. The simple mix of aquavit and lemon soda is light and refreshing and doesn't deserve its somewhat quirky reputation.

Recipe for flyversjus

A refined version of the classic and delicious drink: Flyversjus.

We have the recipe from the book: “AKVAVIT – Myths, food, and cocktails“, written by Rasmus Poulsgaard & Sune Risum-Urth. They write the following about the recipe:

“The Flyversjus is one of the classic Danish drinks, which can be dated back to 1937 – and probably earlier. The simple mixture of aquavit and lemon soda is light and refreshing and does not deserve its somewhat negative reputation. Here, we make it with a Norwegian aquavit and Fever Tree’s Lemon Tonic. If you are very brave, you can make your own lemonade – see below.”
