Recipe for homemade rhubarb syrup

We provide you with a recipe for a delightful rhubarb syrup that can be used for cordial, drinks, dressing, and on yogurt.

Homemade Rhubarb Syrup

Ingredients

  • 300 gram Rhubarb
  • 2.5 dl Sugar
  • 5 dl Water

Instructions

  • Clean the stalks of rhubarb and cut them into smaller pieces. They should be about 2-3 centimeters long.
  • Put water and sugar in a saucepan and bring the water to just below the boiling point, so the sugar dissolves.
  • Once the sugar is dissolved, add the chopped rhubarb stalks to the saucepan and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes.
  • Rhubarb Syrup
  • Once the rhubarb is cooked and tender, strain the rhubarb and transfer the rhubarb syrup into a bottle and refrigerate.
  • Once the syrup has cooled it is ready for use.
  • Use the syrup for a delicious and refreshing summer drink, both with and without alcohol.
