Recipe for homemade tom collins

Delicious and tasty recipe for the iconic summer drink Tom Collins, combining the best of alcohol with sweetness and tartness.

We have the recipe from the book: “Gin – recipes for gin, tonic, and cocktails“, written by Jesper Schmidt, who says the following about the recipe:

“Tom Collins is a classic, actually one of the really old ones. You can find it in Jerry Thomas’ “The Bartender’s Guide”, which was published back in 1876. In this recipe, Old English Gin is used. It is distilled in England’s oldest pot still, bottled in a champagne bottle, and sealed with a cork and wax, just as it was done in the old days.”

This recipe requires the following:

  • cocktail shaker or similar
  • jigger
  • cocktail strainer or small sieve
  • glass
  • 16-18 ice cubes

Servings: 1 drink
