Recipe for tea rolls (bunny buns)
Now that it is winter break, I decided to invite my mother’s group, with both small and older siblings, over for a cozy morning at my place!
I baked these super soft and fluffy tea buns, which are quite similar to bear buns/ birthday buns. You could easily add a bit of cardamom to them if you like.
Tea Buns (Bear Buns) Recipe

Ingredients
- 50 gram Yeast
- 250 gram Water
- 150 gram Milk
- 100 gram Sour Cream
- 1 Egg
- 100 gram Butter soft
- 75 gram Sugar
- 6 gram Salt
- 1 kg Wheat Flour about
Instructions
- Warm the milk and water.
- Pour it into your mixing bowl and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Add creme fraiche, eggs, butter, sugar, and salt.
- Now add the wheat flour little by little while stirring until the dough begins to release from the sides of the bowl.
- Knead the dough for at least 20 minutes.
- Set the dough to rise in a warm place for 45 - 60 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 24 rolls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Let the rolls rise to double size in a warm place for 1 - 2 hours.
- Brush the rolls with milk and bake them at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) conventional oven for 12 - 14 minutes.
- The rolls are now ready to serve.
