Recipe for oatmeal balls with sugar and coconut
Oatmeal balls with sugar and coconut – or as they are called in our home: Coconut magic balls.
This recipe is the one my Grandma always made, and it’s easy to customize if you want to make an adult version with rum, for example.

Ingredients
- 220 gram Oatmeal Equivalent to 6 dl
- 79 gram Coconut Flour Equivalent to 2 dl
- 150 gram Powdered Sugar Equivalent to 3 dl
- 200 gram Butter Room temperature
- 20 gram Vanilla Sugar
- 40 gram Cocoa
- 30 gram Water
- 80 gram Sugar For decoration
Instructions
- Make sure the butter is at room temperature before you start - otherwise, it is impossible to work with.
- Mix it together with the oatmeal, coconut flour, vanilla sugar, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and water.
- First, I tried kneading it with a wooden spoon, which was hard - so I started using my hand.
- That was also too hard, as the portion is quite large. So, it all ended up in the mixer, and I created a lot of unnecessary washing up.
- Once the mixture is kneaded into a uniform mass, the balls need to be formed.
- This is done by hand, and they should be about 2-3 cm in diameter.
- Pour sugar into a small bowl and roll your balls in it.
- Let them chill in the fridge overnight, or at least for one hour, before eating.
- Keep them refrigerated until they are eaten - it doesn't take long for us 🙂
