Recipe for mac & cheese
I call this dish a “Mac & Cheese Wannabe”!
A true Mac & Cheese contains only macaroni, cheese, milk, flour, and butter.
My version is therefore a kind of evolution of the classic Macaroni & Cheese, because I add bacon, chicken, and bamboo shoots. Yum!
This gives a bit more substance and makes it more filling for an otherwise very simple dish 🙂
It’s a delicious, easy, and super quick everyday meal that you can have ready in less than 30 minutes!

- Add bacon. Add chicken cut into cubes. Add bamboo shoots and let the dish stand over low heat for 5 minutes.
- Add the cream cheese and mix well.
- Add cremefine or cooking cream. Stir well and let the dish simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta and mix everything well.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve immediately - enjoy.
