Recipe for italian pizza
One of the things that made the biggest impression on me the first time I was in Rome was that they used buffalo mozzarella on their pizzas, and the crusts were very thin and crispy.
I have tried to replicate that in this recipe, and the result was, if I say so myself, quite good!
You can, of course, make the pizzas exactly the size you want. I like to make them in portion sizes, like in Italy, but it’s up to you!

Italian pizza
Ingredients
- 50 gram Yeast
- 600 gram Water Lukewarm
- 25 gram Sugar
- 12 gram Salt
- 54 gram Olive Oil
- 1000 kg Pizza Flour Tipo 00
- tomato sauce
- Pesto
- Mozzarella Chees
- Parma Ham
- Grated cheese
Instructions
- Pour lukewarm water into a bowl and dissolve the yeast in it.
- Then stir in the salt, sugar, and oil.
- Gradually sift in the salt into the mixture. Knead the dough well on a floured surface.
- Place the dough back in the bowl with a little oil at the bottom.
- Let the dough rise for about 2 hours with airtight plastic wrap over it.
- Then knead the dough well again. Divide the dough into 8-12 pieces - depending on how big or small you want the pizzas. If you prefer fewer large pizzas, simply divide the dough fewer times.
- Roll them into balls and place them in a baking pan greased with oil. Sprinkle the dough with flour and cover the pan with a damp cloth.
- Let the dough rise again for 30-60 minutes.
- When the dough is ready, roll the balls out into thin, round pizzas.
- Then add the desired toppings.
- Here we use a good tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, green pesto, Parma ham, and grated cheese.
- Bake one pizza at a time on a baking sheet, pizza stone, or baking steel in the oven at 275 degrees Celsius (527 degrees Fahrenheit) with fan for about 4 minutes.
