Recipe for homemade coarse mustard
Delicious and tasty homemade mustard, made with both strong and mild mustard seeds.
The recipe doesn’t require much work, but lots of waiting and resting time.

Ingredients
- 90 gram Mustard Grain yellow
- 45 gram Mustard Grain brown
- 5 gram Mustard Powder Coleman's
- 5 pcs. All Spice whole
- Tarragon 3 sprigs - fresh and chopped
- 3.3 gram Anise Seeds
- 6 gram Salt
- 200 gram Apple Cider Vinegar
- 210 gram Honey
- 25 gram Sugar
- 4.4 gram Turmeric
- 150 gram Apple Cider Vinegar for later use
- Atamon to rinse the jar
Instructions
- 1. Mustard seeds, allspice, and anise seeds are crushed in a mortar. Put them in a pot.
- 2. Add mustard powder, turmeric, sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, salt, and chopped tarragon and bring to a boil.
- 3. Pour the mustard mixture into jars rinsed with atamon and refrigerate.
- 4. For the next 3-4 days, stir in a bit of vinegar to achieve the desired consistency.
- 5. Blend the mustard mixture; the longer you blend, the finer it becomes.
