A lovely bun you can use for breakfast, the Halloween party, or the lunchbox. It was a big hit with my 5-year-old daughter in her lunchbox.

Cozy Halloween buns made from oatmeal buns. They have food coloring in them and are shaped like small pumpkins.

Ingredients
Oatmeal
- 80 gram Oatmeal
- 400 gram Water
Buns
- 25 gram Yeast
- 500 gram Water lukewarm
- 12.5 gram Sugar
- 18 gram Sea Salt can be replaced with coarse salt
- 90 gram Oil neutral in taste
- 1 kg Wheat Flour approximately
- Fruit Color orange, or yellow and red
Instructions
- Boil water and oatmeal for a few minutes. Remove from the pot and let it cool slightly.
- Dissolve the yeast in water, add sugar, salt, and oil.
- Add oatmeal and mix together.
- Gradually add flour so the dough does not become dry.
- Let the dough rise for 30 minutes under a shower cap (or a tea towel).
- Shape into buns and tie the buns with butcher's twine. I used three pieces of twine for each bun.
- Let the buns proof while the oven preheats to 225 degrees Celsius (437 degrees Fahrenheit) (fan) and bake for about 10 minutes.
