Recipe for basil oil – unfiltered
Often, you see authentic Italian pizza garnished with basil or similar herbs. You also frequently see delicious soups garnished with a green oil at finer restaurants. But how do you make them? – Find out here!
I chose not to strain this oil; if I did, it would become a completely transparent green oil with a lot of flavor. Since I was using it on pizza, it could be a bit coarse and include everything. See how in the video below:

Basil oil - unfiltered
Ingredients
- 2 bunches Basil Leaves fresh
- 184 gram Olive Oil a good quality enhances the dish significantly
- 2 pinches Flake Salt
- 3 cloves Garlic
Instructions
- I picked all the leaves and rinsed them. The leaves were accompanied by the oil and the now coarsely chopped garlic cloves, along with a bit of salt.
- I blended everything for a minimum of 5 minutes at full speed. Stop occasionally and scrape down the edges if needed.
- Now the oil is ready and can be used for plating. Use the oil for pizza, croutons, soups, baguettes, etc.
