Tortilla Wraps

Author: Bakerman
Keyword: Bake, Bread, Mexico, Sides
Prep Time: 35 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 400 gram Wheat Flour
  • 210 gram Water can be up to 230 ml
  • 12 gram Salt
  • 10 gram Baking Soda
  • 54 gram Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together in a mixer.
  • If the dough is very soft at the start, add a little more flour (preferably done at the beginning).
  • Mix the dough until it is smooth and firm.
  • Sprinkle flour on the table and divide the dough into about 8 pieces.
  • Roll the dough into small balls.
  • Let them sit for 15 minutes or refrigerate until you're ready to use them.
  • Now roll out the balls with a rolling pin or baker's roller into small round pancakes (not too thick).
  • When you have rolled out half of them, heat up the pan on maximum heat.
  • By the time you finish rolling out the balls, your pan will be very hot.
  • Place a pancake on a dry, hot pan (do not use fat or other substances).
  • Bake the tortilla about 1 minute on each side. Lift and check. If it starts to get black spots, it's time to turn it over.
  • When it is baked on both sides, place it between aluminum foil, and possibly a dish towel around it. This way they won't get cold and dry.
  • Voila, you have now made your own tortilla wraps. They may not be cheaper than the ones you buy, but they are 100 times better.
  • You can add spinach yourself or replace some of the flour with coarser or other types of flour if you wish.

Notes

I was originally trained as a baker, but today I only practice baking as a hobby.
In my free time, I write about things like Traeger grills on my own blog, which is also fantastic for baking.
