Turn down the heat slightly and stir well until all the sugar is dissolved.
Let your syrup cool down well and pour it into a scalded bottle with a swing-top stopper/cork.

If you want to make a more aromatic syrup, for example, you can add berries, licorice, or a fruit of your choice:
Bring it to a boil.
Refrigerate it overnight to extract all the flavors.
Strain the contents of the pot thoroughly.
