Squash Buns with Ham and Cheese

Light, airy, fluffy, and just super delicious with ham, cheese, zucchini, and chives inside. They taste fantastic! They are mixed together in just a few minutes – you don't even need to get your hands sticky, and then you have wonderful buns for the lunchbox, picnic, or just for home comfort.

Ingredients

  • 500 gram Water lukewarm
  • 50 gram Yeast
  • 25 gram Sugar
  • 1.5 gram Salt
  • 2 pcs. Egg
  • 150 gram Ham diced
  • 125 gram Grated cheese
  • 1/2 pcs. Squash coarsely grated
  • 1 bunch Chives finely chopped
  • 500 gram Wheat Flour
  • 200 gram Tipo 00 Flour flour

Instructions

  • Dissolve the yeast in the water.
  • Add sugar, salt, and eggs and whisk well.
  • Mix in the ham, cheese, zucchini, and chives.
  • Add both types of flour to the bowl and stir everything well with a large spoon. The dough should be cohesive but can be a bit wet.
  • Let the dough rise for an hour at room temperature.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Use a spoon to shape the buns and place them on a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Bake for 20 minutes until they are golden and nice.
