Instructions
Pour the milk into a bowl that can go in the microwave.
Warm the milk in the microwave - it should just be lukewarm/body temperature (37 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit)).
Take the milk out of the microwave.
Now dissolve the yeast in the milk until the yeast is dissolved.
Now add sugar, egg, melted butter, and cardamom.
Whisk it together.
Add salt to the mixture.
Add a little flour at a time while whisking.
Mix it until the dough is completely homogeneous.
Cover the bowl with the dough and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Divide the now risen dough into 20 equal pieces.
Shape the 20 pieces into buns.
Place the buns on the baking pan - remember that the buns should be placed so close that they will grow together, as we know hveder (wheat buns).
Put the stopper in your kitchen sink and fill the sink with boiling water.
Place the baking pan with the buns on top of the sink.
Let the buns rise for about 20 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) (top and bottom heat).
Put the baking pan in the now hot oven.
Bake the buns for 15-16 minutes.
Take the finished, delicious warm buns out of the oven and let them cool slightly.
Serve - and remember plenty of butter ;-)
