  • › Start by extending all the bends on the straws to their full length. › Place as many straws as possible in your tall glass with the bends facing down. › Mix cocoa and milk together. › Soften the gelatin powder in the water and let it sit for a few minutes until it gels. › Melt the gelatin in a water bath and let it cool. › Add the gelatin to the cocoa-milk mixture and stir it together. › Pour the mixture into the straws from the top until the glass is full. › Let the straws chill for at least four hours. Earthworm Cake The Cake! The earthworms work great as decorations on a chocolate cake that looks like dirt, so just find a recipe you like. The trick is to bake both a large and a small chocolate cake, where the large one can serve as a base and the small one can be crumbled on top to resemble dirt. Let the chocolate cakes cool before decorating with the worms – otherwise, they might melt. To get the worms out of the straws, simply squeeze the straw with two fingers and push the worm onto the cake.
