Mix dry yeast with water and let stand for a few minutes until it bubbles.
Add the rest of the ingredients, but only half of the flour.
Mix using a stand mixer and scrape the sides if necessary.
Add the remaining flour little by little.
Knead for a few minutes.
Let the dough rest covered for 2 hours until it doubles in size.
Place the dough on a floured surface, punch it down, and roll it out to 1 cm thickness.
Let the dough rest for a few minutes before cutting out the donuts, so it can tighten up. This way, you'll get the roundest donuts.
Place the donuts on baking paper and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes.
Heat the oil to 175 degrees Celsius (347 degrees Fahrenheit) and fry the donuts for a total of 2-3 minutes.
Turn them only once.
Let them drain and cool before adding decorations.
