Ingredients

  • 100 gram Ground Beef
  • 5 gram worcestershire sauce (English sauce)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 pcs. Onion
  • 20 gram Butter
  • 5 gram Balsamic Vinegar or another type of vinegar
  • 4 gram Sugar
  • 2 slices Bread
  • 5 gram Ketchup

Instructions

  • Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into thin slices.
  • Heat a pan and add the butter.
  • When the butter has sizzled away, add the onions. Fry them for a couple of minutes.
  • Add balsamic vinegar and sugar and allow the onions to caramelize over not too high heat - it takes about 10 minutes.
  • Cut 2 relatively thick slices of sandwich bread. I used our own homemade, see the recipe here.
  • The meat was dry-aged (the process can be seen in the video under the recipe).
  • Season the meat with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Place one slice of bread on a piece of baking paper on a baking tray.
  • Lay the meat on the bread in a thin layer, reaching all the way to the edges of the bread.
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake the bread with the meat for 5 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) with a fan.
  • Take the bread out of the oven and spread ketchup on the steak. Then add the fried, soft onions on top and also place the last slice of bread on.
  • Cook the sandwich in the toaster for about 7 minutes, so the bread is crispy and the meat is properly cooked.
