Cut your broccoli in half.
Rinse it under a cold water faucet and dry it thoroughly with a clean tea towel.
Cut the florets so they are as uniform in size as possible.
Find a pot that is large enough to hold them in as few layers as possible.
Add water, salt, and butter to the pot.
Turn up the heat to high and when the butter has melted, add your broccoli florets.
Cover with a lid and steam for 2 minutes.
Remove the pot from the heat.
Take off the lid and stir the pot.
Let it sit in the pot for 2 minutes.
Use a slotted spoon to remove them, as there will still be some liquid left in the pot. Alternatively, you can drain off the water and let your broccoli drip dry in a colander.
Serve optionally with a bit of butter, grated lemon zest, and flaky salt on top.
