Whisk flour, sugar, vanilla, salt, and baking powder together in a bowl. Gradually add the milk and whisk until there are no lumps.
Whisk the egg yolks into the pancake batter.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Once the egg whites are stiff, gently fold them into the pancake batter using a spatula.
Melt the butter in the pan you will use to fry the pancakes. Once the butter is melted, pour it into another container for later use between frying batches.
On a standard pan, you can cook 3 pancakes at a time. Optionally, use a measuring cup to pour the batter. Use approximately 1/2 dl per pancake.
Let the pancakes cook on medium heat for 2 minutes on each side.
Between each batch of pancakes, add a little butter to the pan to prevent the pancakes from sticking.
