American Pancakes with Vanilla

Delicious, easy pancakes with vanilla

Ingredients

  • 275 gram Wheat Flour
  • 0.5 l Milk
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 7.2 gram Baking Soda
  • 8.4 gram Vanilla Sugar
  • 25 gram Sugar
  • 2 Egg
  • 50 gram Butter For frying

Instructions

  • Whisk flour, sugar, vanilla, salt, and baking powder together in a bowl. Gradually add the milk and whisk until there are no lumps.
  • Whisk the egg yolks into the pancake batter.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Once the egg whites are stiff, gently fold them into the pancake batter using a spatula.
  • Melt the butter in the pan you will use to fry the pancakes. Once the butter is melted, pour it into another container for later use between frying batches.
  • On a standard pan, you can cook 3 pancakes at a time. Optionally, use a measuring cup to pour the batter. Use approximately 1/2 dl per pancake.
  • Let the pancakes cook on medium heat for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Between each batch of pancakes, add a little butter to the pan to prevent the pancakes from sticking.
