Yeast Dough

Perfect for sausage rolls and pizza rolls
Author: Anette Søstrøm Asmussen
Prep Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 gram Water Lukewarm
  • 5 gram Dry Yeast If using regular yeast, use 25g
  • 15 gram Sugar
  • 10 gram Coarse salt
  • 20 gram Oil
  • 80 gram Oatmeal
  • 25 gram Sesame Seeds
  • 500 gram Wheat Flour

Instructions

  • Mix water, yeast, sugar, coarse salt, and oil in a bowl. Stir the rolled oats and sesame seeds into the mixture, adding the wheat flour gradually. Optionally, use a mixer. When the dough is well incorporated with flour, turn it onto the counter and knead until you have an elastic dough. It should not stick to your fingers. Allow the dough to rise in a bowl covered with a cloth. If you have a shower cap, use it. This creates a good proofing environment in the bowl. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes. Yeast DoughWhen the dough has risen, it is ready to use. Use the dough for sausage rolls, with a little ketchup inside, or take leftovers from the meat sauce and make some delicious pizza rolls for lunchboxes or for a trip outdoors with the kids. Notes

Always let the dough proof again before baking. Bake them at 210 degrees Celsius (410 degrees Fahrenheit) for 10-15 minutes in a convection oven
When I bake sausage rolls for our little girl, I always make them small and with cocktail sausages, as they have no skin.
To make them fun in the lunchbox, I cut the sausages into 3 pieces. They are easy to grab on the go.
Sometimes I bake the pizza rolls in a muffin tin, so they rise tall instead of spreading out.
