Recipe for spiced oatmeal with pear compote
I love oatmeal – all year round. I find it fun that you can vary and adapt the taste of such a simple dish endlessly and create magic by adding all sorts of delicious toppings.
Today, I started the day with this wonderful power bowl consisting of oatmeal with chia seeds and a convincing taste of ginger. Together with a sweet and mild pear compote, crunchy lightly bitter walnuts, and fresh pears, you get a pretty heavenly breakfast filled with good stuff.
The pear compote takes only 5 minutes to whip up, but you can also make it in advance and store it in a jar, – then you’ll have a lovely topping for oatmeal, yogurt, skyr, pancakes, and waffles, or maybe to put on cheese or freshly baked buns… This recipe gives a fairly large portion, so there’s enough for several servings.
This whole delight can be ready in just 10 minutes and gives you a solid, satisfying, and delicious start to the day.
