Soft burger buns
Ingredients
- 500 gram Water Lukewarm
- 2 pcs. Egg
- 0.5 package Yeast
- 12.5 gram Sugar
- 18 gram Salt
- 75 gram Butter Room temperature
- 1 kg Wheat Flour
- 1 pcs. Egg For brushing
- Sesame Seeds For brushing
Instructions
- Feel free to use a mixer for this dough, it makes it much easier.
- Pour the water into the bowl and dissolve the salt, sugar, and yeast in it.
- Add 250 grams of the wheat flour while stirring vigorously. Keep stirring until there are no lumps left.
- Add the two eggs - one at a time.
- Add another 250 grams of wheat flour and mix it all well.
- Cut the butter into smaller slices and add a few slices at a time - again while stirring.
- The butter should be well incorporated into the dough, there shouldn't be any clumps of butter in it.
- Now continue to add more flour to the dough while kneading.
- There's enough flour when the dough starts to pull away from the sides of the mixing bowl.
- This can easily take 5-10 minutes and you may not need to use all the flour.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour. Cover the bowl with a shower cap or a tea towel.
- After 1 hour, sprinkle flour on the kitchen counter and divide the dough into 10 pieces.
- Shape buns from the pieces and place them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
- Press them a little flat and let them rise again for one more hour.
- Beat the egg with a fork in a small bowl and brush your buns on the top.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on and put them in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) with a fan.
- They should bake for 10-12 minutes.
- If you're unsure if they're baked through, take a bun out and tap on the bottom of it. If it sounds hollow, it's baked through.
- Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
They just need to be packed in freezer bags once they have cooled, and then you always have burger buns for a busy day.
