Recipe for sidecar
Delicious and delectable recipe for a Sidecar, the classic cocktail with cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice.
We have the recipe from the book: “Iconic Cocktails“, written by Jesper Schmidt. He writes the following about it:
“No one knows the true origin of the Sidecar, but the myth goes that an American captain invented it while stationed in Paris during World War I. He frequently visited his favorite bar in the city, always arriving in the sidecar of a motorcycle, hence the name Sidecar. The cocktail combines cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice, and bartenders worldwide strive to achieve the perfect balance that offers a velvety mouthfeel and just the right sweetness to balance the acidity and alcohol. Here is a really good version, and remember: Make sure to have a really good cognac on hand, as it is essential to achieve the perfect Sidecar.”
