Pico de gallo, also known as tomato salsa, is a fresh and delicious Mexican salsa that brings a touch of summer to any meal. This recipe is based on cold marinating the vegetables with lime juice and salt, which enhances the natural flavors and gives a fresh and tangy finish. Ingredients

  • 300 gram Tomato sun-ripened
  • 40 gram Red Onion finely chopped
  • 1 pcs. Green chili pitted and finely chopped (preferably Jalapeño)
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 1-2 tablespoon Cilantro fresh or another herb
  • Lime Juice
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Cut the tomatoes into small cubes and drain some of the liquid from them.
  • Mix the tomatoes in a bowl with finely chopped red onion, chili, garlic, and cilantro.
  • Toss the tomato mixture with salt and lime juice.
  • Let the salsa rest for about an hour before serving.
  • Adjust the seasoning with extra salt and lime before serving.
