Simply better than sliced pickles

Recipe for pickled cucumber strips

I don’t like pickled cucumber slices because they often have an unpleasant texture and are difficult to distribute over the food you are eating them with.

Therefore, I cut them into strips, and it works perfectly, while also looking better than slices.

Ingredients

  • 0.5 pcs. Cucumber Washed thoroughly
  • 100 gram Vinegar Distilled vinegar, clear
  • 100 gram Water
  • 42.5 gram Sugar

Instructions

  • Cut the cucumber and let it drain in a sieve or colander. I used a spiralizer to get the desired thickness. Feel free to add a bit of salt. shredded cucumber draining Heat water, vinegar, and sugar until it lightly boils and continue boiling until the sugar dissolves.
  • Fill the jar with cucumber strips, firmly packing them to avoid loose layers. Ensure the strips are not too long; it's better to have several shorter ones.
  • I often add a handful of peppercorns to the jar. cucumber strips with brine Pour the hot brine over and seal the lid.
  • Allow to cool and let it sit for at least 3-4 hours before they are ready to eat.

Notes

The shelf life is a couple of months once the jar is opened again.
However, they never last that long in our house 🙂
