Ingredients

  • 150 gram Rice wild rice
  • 4 pcs. Tomato large tomatoes, preferably beef tomatoes
  • 1 pcs. Red Onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 1 pcs. Bell Pepper preferably yellow

  • Spices salt and pepper
  • 100 gram Water

Instructions

  • Rinse the wild rice thoroughly. Add water to the pot, there should be twice as much water as rice. Add a pinch of salt.

  • Mix the cooked rice with the onion and tomato mixture, basil, and bell pepper cubes. Season well with salt and pepper.
  • Divide the filling into the hollowed-out tomatoes and place the tops on as lids.
  • Place the tomatoes in an ovenproof dish. Add 100 ml (1 dl) of water to the bottom of the dish and bake the tomatoes for 20 minutes until they are fully cooked and nicely golden.
  • Serve the stuffed tomatoes as a side dish to meat, or enjoy them as a vegetarian meal with a good salad and bread.
