Recipe for honey-roasted peanuts

Honey-roasted peanuts are a delightful snack that can be enjoyed while relaxing on the sofa, but they are also very useful in various salads. The lightly salted nuts in crunchy and sweet honey caramel take only 10 minutes to make – including cooling time, and then they are ready to use.

If you don’t use them all at once, you can store them in an airtight container for a few days. If they unexpectedly become sticky or soft in the container, you can give them a few minutes in the oven at 200 degrees, let them cool, and they will be fine again.

Equipment

  • Frying Pan
  • Bowl

Ingredients

  • 100 gram Peanuts salted
  • 32 gram Honey liquid
  • 30 gram Water

Instructions

  • Roast the peanuts in a hot dry pan until they start to release their aroma. This takes 2-3 minutes. Stir them regularly during the process. Reduce to medium heat.
  • Mix water and honey together in a small bowl and add the mixture to the pan.
  • Toss the peanuts to distribute the honey water, continue until the water has evaporated and the honey has turned into golden caramel that sticks to the peanuts. Keep a close eye to prevent burning, which can give the peanuts an unpleasant taste. It takes 2-4 minutes for the water to evaporate, depending on the heat level, and then the peanuts should be removed from the heat.
  • Pour your peanuts onto a piece of parchment paper and let them cool slightly before separating them. Now they are ready for use.
