Grilled Halloumi

This delightful spicy cheese from Cyprus has many qualities: It's perfect as a meat alternative for a vegetarian dish or as a side to a grilled meal. The cheese remains firm when heated and is therefore excellent for grilling.

Ingredients

  • 250 gram Halloumi Cheese
  • 13.6 gram Oil
  • Spices Salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Slice the cheese lengthwise. The slices should be around 1 cm thick.
  • Brush them with a little oil.
  • Heat your grill (or grill pan) until it is very hot and place the cheese on it.
  • Grill for a few minutes on each side and the cheese is ready.
  • Season with a bit of salt and pepper if desired.
