Grilled Ginger Cookies with Syrup
Equipment
- Baking Tray or grill tray
- Grill Grill temperature: 200°C
Ingredients
- 150 gram Butter soft
- 100 gram Brown sugar or muscovado sugar
- 30 gram Honey
- 200 gram Syrup
- 400 gram Wheat Flour
- 4.6 gram Baking Soda
- 5.4 gram Ground ginger or 3 cm grated ginger for stronger flavor
Instructions
Kitchen
- Whisk butter, brown sugar, and honey together for about 5 minutes until fluffy. Add syrup, flour, ginger, and bicarbonate of soda, and whisk until smooth. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough with a rolling pin between 2 pieces of baking paper to about 5 mm thickness. Cut out using a cutter or a glass for small cookies.
- Place them on a baking paper-lined baking tray.
Grill
- Set and preheat the grill to 200°C (direct heat for gas grills, optionally with a baking stone).
- Place the baking tray on the grill and grill until they are slightly golden at the edges for about 10-12 minutes.
- Let them cool on a rack to become crispy.
Arrange
- Optionally, decorate with chocolate icing, but they also taste great as they are with a cup of tea or coffee.
