Recipe for grilled banana split

The beloved 90’s classic has received an update: You know how the grill is always at its best when you’re finished, or when there’s just one more sausage to grill.

I suggest using the last heat from the grill to create a delicious grilled dessert in the form of a grilled banana split.

The jet-black banana hides a wonderfully creamy and soft banana inside, whose sweetness pairs well with the melted brown sugar, whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and whisky.

Once you’ve tried it this way, you’ll always make a regular banana split again.

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Equipment

  • Deciliter Measure
  • Grill
  • Whisk
  • Chef'S Knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 4 pcs. Banana
  • 200 gram Whipping Cream
  • 48 gram Brown sugar
  • Whiskey to taste. Can be omitted
  • Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Caramel Sauce preferably salted caramel

Instructions

  • The grill should be very hot.
  • Place the bananas on the grill; they should remain in their peel.
  • When it is completely black, it should be turned over.
  • Whip cream from the whipping cream. I always whip by hand; it helps me avoid over-whipping and causing it to split. In general, you should remember that whipped cream continues to work after you stop whipping, so it's better to under-whip than to over-whip.
  • Remove the bananas from the grill; they are now ready to be served.
  • Cut a slit on the inner side of the banana from one end to the other.
  • Open it up without removing the banana.
  • Put an even layer of brown sugar on top of the warm banana so it melts.
  • Sprinkle it with a little whiskey/cognac or whatever you prefer. It can easily be omitted.
  • Add whipped cream, ice cream, and a bit of caramel sauce, and it's ready to serve.
  • Enjoy.
