Recipe for grandma’s pound cake
An old classic at our home: Grandma’s pound cake. The cake is reminiscent of a pound cake, where you use an equal amount of sugar, flour, eggs, and butter/margarine – usually a pound of each (almost 500 grams).
The cake is easy to make, requires only a few ingredients, and always tastes wonderful.

Ingredients
- 500 gram Wheat Flour
- 500 gram Sugar
- 500 gram Margarine Feel free to use liquid
- 8 pcs. Egg
- 19.2 gram Baking Soda
- Vanilla Sugar 6-8 tsp. Can be omitted
Instructions
- Sugar and butter are well mixed (whip if you don't have a mixer).
- Eggs are added under stirring - one at a time.
- Baking powder, vanilla, and flour are added.
- Mix well together (in the machine).
- Pour into 2 loaf tins lined with baking paper.
- Bake for about 1 hour and 15 minutes at 180° on the second lowest rack in the oven.
- Check with a meat needle to see if it's done.
