Recipe for gin sour
Fresh and tangy classic with gin.
We have the recipe from the book: “Gin – recipes for gin, tonic, and cocktails“, written by Jesper Schmidt, who says the following about the recipe:
“Gin Sour is part of the Sour family, which also includes Whisky Sour and Amaretto Sour, Daiquiri, Margarita, Sidecar, etc. A sour should have a fine balance between the sour and the sweet, giving a fresh cocktail.”
This recipe requires the following:
- a cocktail shaker or similar.
- jigger
- cocktail strainer or small sieve
- glass
- 10-12 ice cubes

Ingredients
- 4 cl Gin Dodd´s Old Tom Gin, or another Old Tom Gin
- 2 cl Lemon Juice
- 0.5 tsp. Sugar
- 1 pcs. cherry cocktail cherry
Instructions
- about the ice cubes in the cocktail shaker.
- Pour Dodd´s Old Tom Gin, lemon juice, and sugar into the shaker.
- Shake hard (make sure to hold both ends of the shaker firmly) for 16-20 seconds.
- Strain the cocktail through a cocktail strainer or a small sieve into the glass.
- Garnish with the cocktail cherry.
