Recipe for fish nuggets with tartar sauce
Fish nuggets are the kind of fish that both young and old can enjoy. They are deliciously crunchy and crispy.
These are breaded in panko and served with tartar sauce, which pairs really well. Tartar sauce provides a great contrast to the fatty, crispy fish because it has a wonderful sharpness with a bit of acidity.
They are perfect as a snack, appetizer, or starter, but with a bit of goodwill, you can also serve them as a complete meal 😉 Just once in a while!
The advantage of using panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs is that panko has a structure that prevents it from absorbing too much fat. This means it stays crunchy and crispy for longer – unlike breadcrumbs, which absorb more fat and therefore become soft more quickly after breading.
Panko is thus ideal for, for example, fish nuggets and other similar recipes. But you can, of course, use regular breadcrumbs for the recipe.
