Recipe for easy and spiced beer cake
Here is a cake that might not look like much, but it tastes absolutely amazing!
Beer cake is the perfect autumn/winter cake and quite suitable for Christmas. It is filled with many of the warming spices of Christmas, it is moist inside and has a caramelized surface… the whole house smells like Christmas when it’s in the oven, and it tastes of childhood and winter memories…
I have added chopped dates and walnuts to mine – it’s not necessary, but I think it gives a wonderful twist to the classic cake. It can be eaten as it is, or you can slice it and put ice-cold butter on it – it only gets better!
A simple cake that is incredibly easy to make, but really surprises
