Recipe for dried oranges
Dried oranges are not only beautiful to look at, but they also add a lovely aromatic scent and flavor to, for example, tea or a fresh Gin&Tonic.
In this recipe, the oranges are dried in a dehydrator. A dehydrator, in its simplest form, is a drying oven that, with an efficient fan, can dry food at low temperatures. In the process, the moisture is drawn out of the oranges while preserving their beautiful color. Additionally, the flavor becomes more intense and bitter.
Here, you get a detailed guide to dehydrators.

Dried Oranges
Equipment
- Dehydrator
Ingredients
- 1 Orange
Instructions
- Wash the oranges and cut them into thin slices. Dry the orange slices at 57 degrees Celsius (135 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15 hours. Oranges contain a lot of liquid, so they need a long time in the dehydrator. Use the dried oranges in your tea, as a delicious garnish in a drink, or as decoration on a dessert.
