Recipe for dried bananas
Dried banana chips are the closest you can get to candy while avoiding unnecessary added sugar. Introduce them as a snack for the kids, and they will love them!
Here is the recipe for bananas dried in a dehydrator. Food drying is essentially an old preservation method, but here it happens in a drying oven, where the foods lose a large part of their moisture content, which intensifies the taste, texture, and energy density.
You can use the dried bananas as healthy snacks in lunchboxes, in muesli for breakfast, or in baked goods and cakes.

Dried bananas
Equipment
- Dehydrator
Ingredients
- 1 Banana
Instructions
- Avoid using both overly ripe and green bananas. Peel the banana and cut it into thin slices. Place them on a tray and put it in the dehydrator. Dry them at 57 degrees Celsius (135 degrees Fahrenheit) for 6-10 hours. The drying time depends on the ripeness of the bananas, humidity levels, and how dry you want your banana chips.
