Mmmhhh, deliciously moist and juicy cinnamon cake with a wonderful, rich coffee icing! It’s truly autumnal 🙂
Cinnamon cake is one of those classic loaf cakes that you rarely go wrong with. And it’s incredibly easy to make.
So in connection with my daughter’s birthday, I managed to convince my mother-in-law to bake this lovely cinnamon cake for us! 😉

Cinnamon Cake Recipe

Cinnamon Cake
This moist cinnamon cake with rich coffee icing is the perfect cozy dessert for fall. Easy to bake, full of warm spice, and topped with the most irresistible glaze.
Ingredients
Cinnamon Cake
- 125 gram Butter
- 400 gram Sugar
- 0.5 l Buttermilk
- 400 gram Wheat Flour
- 10 gram Cinnamon ground
- 10 gram Baking Soda
Glaze
- 50 gram Butter
- 250 gram Powdered Sugar
- 8 gram Vanilla Sugar
- 18 gram Cocoa powder
- 120 gram Strong coffee
Instructions
Cinnamon Cake
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) (regular oven).
- Melt the butter in a pot and then mix the sugar together with the butter.
- Add buttermilk and stir it around.
- Then add flour, cinnamon, and baking soda.
- Stir everything together.
- Pour the cinnamon batter into a greased baking tray. Mine is approximately 20 x 30 centimeters.
- Place the baking tray in the preheated oven.
- Let the cake bake for 30 minutes. You can check if the cake is done by inserting a knitting needle or a wooden BBQ skewer into the center of the cake.
- Take the cake out of the oven and let it cool when it is fully baked.
- Find a bowl and add all the ingredients for the icing.
- Stir it well together until you get a smooth mixture.
- Spread the icing on the cake once it has cooled.
- Serve.
