Recipe for beef stroganoff with mushrooms and bacon
Simmering dishes like this are just delightful.
Here is the classic Beef Stroganoff; filled with flavor, tender beef, mushrooms, and bacon – all cooked down in a rich sauce with tomato, cream, and paprika. Yum, these are good things!
Beef Stroganoff is super easy to make; the meat and vegetables are sautéed briefly and then simmered with the rest of the ingredients for about an hour and a half, and voila! Super delicious, flavorful, and quite cozy simmering food on the menu.
I serve it with rice, but it could also have been mashed potatoes.

Beef Stroganoff with Mushrooms and Bacon
Ingredients
- 200 gram Bacon in cubes
- 2 pcs. Garlic finely chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic crushed
- 250 gram Mushroom sliced
- Butter for frying
- 500 gram Sliced beef sliced into strips
- 16 gram Wheat Flour
- 14 gram Paprika
- 6 gram Salt
- 1.5 gram Pepper
- 30 gram Tomato Puree
- 3 pcs. Bay Leaf
- 400 gram Water
- 1 pcs. Stock Cube beef
- 100 gram whipping cream
- 1 handful Parsley minced
Instructions
- Fry bacon until crispy in a pot and then take them out of the pot.
- Sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms in the bacon fat until the onions are soft and glossy. Take the onions, garlic, and mushrooms out of the pot.
- Mix beef with flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Melt a little butter in the pot and brown the meat well.
- Put the bacon, onions, garlic, and mushrooms back into the pot and also add tomato paste, bay leaves, water, and beef bouillon cube – let it all simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours. Simmering time depends on the size of the meat; it's ready when it is tender.
- Finally, add cream and season to taste.
- Serve with rice or mashed potatoes and a bit of parsley on top.
