Kombucha has truly gained a foothold in many health-oriented circles. And although a fermented tea might not be what sounds most appetizing to our ears, it is quite sensible to become familiar with the tea’s reportedly many fabulous properties.

Kombucha has been used by the Chinese since the early beginnings of our era. Like other fermented ingredients, kombucha contributes prebiotics to the digestive system, which feed the good bacteria in the intestines, benefiting the bacteria’s ability to break down and utilize food nutrients.

Kombucha tea is certainly not the cheapest tea you can buy. Fortunately, you can make it yourself if you have the right tools.

To make your own kombucha tea, you need to mix tea leaves, sugar, water, and kombucha culture in a large glass container. The glass container should be covered with a thin cloth and then left to ferment for 1 – 3 weeks.

Kilner has created an entire kombucha set, where you get a 3-liter glass container with a tap and wooden lid, three muslin cloths, string, 2 drinking glasses of four deciliters, and a recipe and instruction booklet in English.

So, you are well-equipped to start your own kombucha adventure!

The Kombucha set can be purchased here at Coolstuff.dk.
