10 of Lewis Hamilton’s Favorite Dishes

After visiting My Garage for one of our Youtube shoots, I decided to look into some aspects of Formula 1 and their eating habits. This included Enzo Ferrari’s favorite dish Tortelli with ricotta, spinach, and sage as well as Spanish croquetas (though it wasn’t Fernando Alonso’s favorite dish ).

Part of my research focused on Lewis Hamilton, the British racing driver who has won the Formula 1 World Championship 7 times. Beyond his achievements on the racetrack, Hamilton is also known for his lifestyle outside of the sport, including his diet and food preferences. As a passionate animal lover and environmental advocate, Hamilton has been vegan since 2017 and often promotes plant-based foods. While it’s not him we went with and we’re not a media outlet filled with vegan food, you shouldn’t miss out on his favorite dishes and recipes we’ve made in the same style (although not all of them are vegan).

Vegan Tacos

Hamilton loves Mexican food, and vegan tacos are among his favorites. He enjoys filling his tacos with various vegan ingredients such as beans, avocado, tomato, onion, and cilantro. To make the dish extra delicious, he often adds vegan cheese and creamy cashew sauce.

Vegan Burger

Another of Hamilton’s favorite dishes is a tasty vegan burger. He prefers burgers made from sustainable ingredients such as pea protein or soy protein, mixed with various spices and herbs to create a flavorful patty. To complete the burger, he adds vegan cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a slice of pineapple for extra taste and texture.

Quinoa Salad

Hamilton also appreciates nutritious and healthy dishes, and one of his favorites is quinoa salad. Quinoa is a protein-rich pseudocereal that is gluten-free and loaded with essential nutrients. He combines quinoa with a variety of colorful vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red bell pepper, corn, and green peas. To give the salad an extra flavor boost, he adds chopped cilantro, lemon juice, and olive oil.

Vegan Pizza

As a big fan of Italian food, vegan pizza is also one of Hamilton’s favorite dishes. He often chooses a pizza with a thin crust topped with delicious plant-based ingredients such as vegan cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, marinated artichoke hearts, and fresh arugula. To make the pizza extra flavorful, he adds a dollop of vegan pesto and a sprinkle of nutritional yeast.

Vegan Pancakes

Hamilton also enjoys indulging in vegan pancakes as a delicious dessert or breakfast dish. He prepares his pancakes with plant milk and vegan ingredients and tops them with fresh fruits like berries, bananas, and kiwi. To make the pancakes even more delightful, he serves them with a scoop of vegan ice cream and a generous portion of maple syrup.

Smoothie Bowls

To start the day with a nutritious and delicious breakfast, Hamilton often enjoys smoothie bowls. He blends his favorite fruits and vegetables, such as bananas, berries, spinach, and avocado, with plant milk to create a thick and creamy smoothie. To add extra texture and nutrients, he tops his smoothie bowl with crushed nuts, seeds, and granola.

Vegan Sushi

Hamilton is also a big fan of Japanese food, and vegan sushi is one of his favorite dishes. He prefers vegan sushi with fillings such as marinated tofu, avocado, cucumber, carrot, and beetroot. To make the dish even more authentic, he serves it with soy sauce, wasabi, and ginger.

Chili Sin Carne

When it comes to warm and spicy dishes, chili sin carne is one of Hamilton’s favorites. This vegan version of the classic chili con carne is made with a mix of different beans and lentils, which replace the meat. To make the dish rich and flavorful, he adds tomato sauce, onion, garlic, cumin, paprika, and chili.

Vegan ‘Fish and Chips’

As a British racing driver, it’s not surprising that Hamilton also enjoys a vegan version of the traditional British dish ‘fish and chips’. He prefers plant-based ‘fish fillets’ made from tofu or seitan, which are breaded and fried to achieve a crispy and delicious surface. To complete the dish, he serves his ‘fish and chips’ with fries, mushy peas, and vegan tartar sauce.

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Finally, Hamilton is a big fan of chocolate cake, and he naturally chooses a vegan version. His preferred chocolate cake is made with plant-based ingredients and is both moist and rich in flavor. To make the cake even more delicious, he adds vegan chocolate frosting and serves it with a sprinkle of fresh berries.

Lewis Hamilton’s favorite dishes reflect his commitment to living a sustainable and animal-friendly lifestyle. Through his food, public support, and his restaurant, Neat Burger, he inspires others to consider the benefits of a plant-based diet and contribute to protecting our planet and its inhabitants.
