Recipe for panna cotta
My take on a delicious Italian vanilla panna cotta infused with the best of lemon. A fluffy mousse topped with a tangy and sweet lemon syrup and caramelized walnuts.
The recipe is simple but needs to be made well in advance. That’s definitely not a problem, as it can be prepared in the morning or the day before you plan to entertain your guests.

Panna cotta
Ingredients
- 0.5 l Cream
- 3 pcs. Gelatin Sheets Leaves
- 1 pcs. Vanilla Pod
- 42.5 gram Cane Sugar
- 2 gram Lemon Zest Finely grated
Instructions
Panna cotta
- - Gelatin is soaked in cold water for about 5 minutes. Cream is brought to a boil with sugar, vanilla, and lemon. Stir constantly to prevent burning. Squeeze the water out of the gelatin and melt it into the cream mixture. Pour the cream mixture into glasses and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Serving
- Serve with a layer of lemon syrup and caramelized walnuts on top.
Notes
Any nuts could be used, by the way - I think I'll try with unsalted pistachios next time!
