Recipe for homemade marzipan
Mmmhhh marzipan bread and Christmas confectionery! Marzipan, yes, it just tastes really delicious.
When you make the marzipan yourself, on one hand it tastes exactly like the one you buy ready-made – that is, it tastes like marzipan! On the other hand, it also just tastes much better and of more!
The store-bought one from the supermarket typically contains almonds, water, sugar, and glucose syrup – meaning it contains some form of starch. The homemade version only contains almonds, sugar, and water, so the almond content percentage is higher than the store-bought one. And you can definitely taste the difference.
“But homemade marzipan, oh, it must be difficult!” Nope, it’s surprisingly easy! So there’s no excuse for not making the confectionery completely from scratch this year.
Homemade Marzipan Recipe

Ingredients
- 200 gram Almonds
- 100 gram Water
- 85 gram Sugar or cane sugar
Instructions
- First, blanch the almonds and let them cool. They must be completely cold before you use them.
-
Pour sugar and water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Remove the pot from the heat when the sugar has completely dissolved in the water and let it cool down.
-
Place the cooled, blanched almonds in a blender and start the machine. It is necessary to stop a few times along the way to scrape the sides and bottom of the blender. Continue until the almonds are ground into a very fine almond flour.
- Gradually add the cooled sugar syrup into the blender while the blender is running. The almond flour and sugar syrup will begin to combine, and your marzipan is ready when it is still moist but no longer sticky.
