Recipe for baked pasta in a dish with ham and greens
Baked pasta casserole with ham, cauliflower, squash, and cheese… you could almost call it a healthier version of mac ‘n’ cheese. Crispy on top, soft and creamy inside, and just packed with great flavor and delicious ingredients.
I used whole grain pasta and mixed it with the ham and vegetables, along with a blend of crème fraîche, paprika, chili, parsley, and grated cheese… mmmm.
You can just feel the chili on the tongue, adding a bit of edge to the dish. But if you want it to be more kid-friendly, just leave it out.
I used cauliflower and squash in this version, but you can swap the vegetables with whatever you have on hand; add and subtract as needed. The ham could also be substituted with fried bacon or chicken if you have any you need to use up.
You can use this recipe as a base and adjust as necessary.
