  • 240 gram Wheat Flour
  • 5 gram Salt
  • 20 gram Baking Soda
  • 80 gram Butter
  • 40 gram Sugar
  • 150 gram Buttermilk Or regular milk

Instructions

  • Put flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and butter in a bowl and crumble the butter coarsely.
  • Scones
  • Knead the dough together with the buttermilk, it is fine if there are big chunks of butter left in the dough.
  • Scones
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and gently press the dough out to a thickness of 1 1/2 - 2 cm in height.
  • Scones
  • Cut out your scones with a cutter about 5 cm in diameter.
  • Scones
  • The excess dough should be briefly kneaded together again, and the dough pressed out and scones cut out until there is no more dough left. I got 10 scones from my batch.
  • Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) (fan-forced) for 10-15 minutes.
  • Let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
  • They taste amazing with lemon curd and cream
