Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 375 gram Raw marzipan Room temperature
  • 30 gram egg white
  • 112 gram Powdered Sugar
  • Powdered Sugar For kneading and rolling out

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius (374 degrees Fahrenheit) fan.
  • Cut the marzipan into smaller pieces and put them in a mixing bowl along with the powdered sugar. Mix the marzipan and powdered sugar well and gradually add the egg whites until you have a delicious and slightly sticky dough.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly powdered sugar-dusted surface.
  • Divide the dough into 3 pieces and roll them out into sausages about 1 - 1.5 centimeters thick.
  • Form each sausage into a triangle and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the shaped kransekage triangles in a conventional oven at 190 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  • When the kransekage is lightly golden, remove them and place them on a cooling rack.
  • Once the kransekage has cooled, brush the bottom with melted chocolate and let the chocolate set. Before adding a light and beautiful icing pattern on the top.
  • Now place the decorated kransekage triangles on top of each other to form a star.
  • Serve on a beautiful platter decorated for New Year's.
  • Kransekage star

Notes

This was my first attempt at kransekage. My dough was likely a bit too wet and kneaded too little. However, it tasted delightful.
