Homemade Spice Buns

There really isn't anything that beats a warm spice bun.Although whole grain rolls are always a hit and taste fantastic, there is something special and indulgent about a spice bun.

Ingredients

  • 250 gram Milk
  • 25 gram Yeast
  • 2 pcs. Egg
  • 25 gram Sugar
  • 2 gram Cardamom ground
  • 550-600 gram Wheat Flour
  • 12 gram Salt
  • 100 gram Soft butter
  • 1 pcs. Egg beaten, for brushing

Instructions

  • The milk is heated to 37 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit) (lukewarm)
  • Mix milk, yeast, egg, sugar, and cardamom in a mixing bowl
  • Add wheat flour little by little and mix for a couple of minutes
  • Now add salt and the soft butter in smaller pieces
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes on high speed until it becomes completely smooth
  • Now let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour
  • Shape 15 buns from the dough and place them on a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • Allow the buns to rise again for about 45 minutes
  • Brush the buns evenly with the beaten egg and bake in the oven for 16-18 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit).
