Start by chopping the onion into coarse, large pieces and blend them together with all the ingredients in a blender.
Blend it into a dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat your deep fryer to 175 degrees Celsius (347 degrees Fahrenheit) and form the dough into balls the size of meatballs directly into the oil (do not use the basket, as they will "stick" to the oil). They are ready when they are crispy all around, which typically takes 6-8 minutes.
Place them on grease-absorbing paper and serve immediately.
