Homemade Brittle

Brittle - definitely not the easiest discipline to start with in the kitchen, but it tastes fantastic. It took me a few tries before I nailed what I think it should be, and thus, I'm sharing my recipe with you here.

Equipment

  • Deciliter Measure
  • Frying Pan
  • Hob

Ingredients

  • 170 gram Sugar approximately
  • 180 gram Hazelnuts can be replaced with other nuts or almonds

Instructions

  • Sugar is melted in a pan over low/medium heat.
  • For heaven's sake, do not let it burn and do not stir the sugar until it is fully melted.
  • Once it is all melted and light golden, add the nuts to the pan.
  • Stir a couple of times and let it sit for a few minutes until they have absorbed the caramel.
  • Then place everything on a piece of baking paper.
  • Once the brittle is cold, chop it coarsely.
