Turn on the stove to medium heat and fry your bacon until crispy. If you don’t have room for all of them in the pan, fry them in two batches. It takes about 10-15 minutes in total.
In the meantime, wash your apples and cut them into quarters. Then it’s super quick to remove the cores.
When the bacon is crispy, remove it from the pan and place it on absorbent paper.
Fry the apples in the bacon fat and let them simmer until they start to break down a bit and are tender.
If the apples are too sour, you can use a bit of sugar to taste.
Serve the apple sauce on a piece of good rye bread and place the crispy bacon on top.
