Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • Rolling Pin
  • Microwave (Optional)
  • Knife
  • Baking Tray
  • Baking Paper
  • Oven
  • Brush
  • Hand Mixer

Ingredients

Dough for cinnamon snails

  • 50 gram Yeast
  • 100 gram Butter
  • 250 gram Milk
  • 1 pcs. Egg
  • 40 gram Sugar
  • 530 gram Wheat Flour

Cinnamon Filling

  • 100 gram Butter soft
  • 5.2 gram Cinnamon

For brushing

  • 1 pcs. Egg

Frosting

  • 100 gram Butter soft
  • 200 gram Powdered Sugar
  • 11 gram Vanilla Sugar

Instructions

Dough for Cinnamon Rolls

  • Melt the butter in a pot and add milk at the end. Pour the butter mixture into your mixer when it has cooled down a bit.
  • Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm butter mixture and then add eggs, salt, and sugar.
  • Add the flour gradually while the mixer is running.
  • Cover the bowl with a clean cloth or tea towel and let the dough rise for 45 minutes. The dough will double in size.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll it out into a flat rectangle.

Cinnamon Filling

  • Take the butter out of the fridge in good time so it becomes soft. You can also give it a short spin in the microwave.
  • Spread the butter on the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough lengthwise.
  • Cut the roll into 16 slices.
  • Place parchment paper on a baking sheet and arrange the cinnamon rolls on it. Remember to leave some space between them so they can rise.
  • Let the cinnamon rolls rise for an additional 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) with fan and brush the cinnamon rolls with a beaten egg.
  • Place the cinnamon rolls in the preheated oven and let them bake until they are golden. This takes about 10 minutes, but keep an eye on them. In the meantime, you can make your frosting.

Frosting

  • Take the butter out of the fridge in good time so it becomes soft or give it a short spin in the microwave (it mustn't melt).
  • Put the softened butter and other ingredients into a bowl and mix everything together with a hand mixer.
  • Take the finished cinnamon rolls out of the oven and let them cool a bit before spreading the frosting on them.
